Diane Beattie has over 25 years of experience in the field of library and archival management. Diane is currently Director, Description Division at Library and Archives Canada. Her Division is responsible for the creation of metadata for library holdings, the National Union Catalogue, and national and international standards. She is also current Chair of the Committee on Standards for IFLA, on the ISSN and ALA RDA Governing Boards. Diane has a Master of Archival and Information Science from the University of British Columbia and an honours degree in History from the University of New Brunswick.
