Limited Capacity seats available

Good governance is a partnership between two groups in a non-profit organization: management and the Board of Trustees.  In this workshop, participants will build their understanding of how a good governance partnership works to ensure a healthy, thriving organization.  We will explore the roles and responsibilities of both partners, how the partners can best support one another in their respective work, and what to do when the navigation of the relationship gets tricky.  During the session, participants will be encouraged to ask questions as their lived experiences provide great learning.
Learning outcomes:
  • Basic governance principles
  • Understanding of roles and responsibilities of management and trustees, including the role of the Board chairperson
  • Tips and resources to improve existing relationships

Will include combination of presentation, group discussions, question/answer, and time for each participant to plan/set goal(s) applicable to their situation.
