This panel explores the experience of working from your library technician’s diploma to your MLIS. It will cover what you need to know about working as a technician while getting your MLIS, explore the experience to transitioning into a librarian role, discuss overlap and differences with librarian and library technician professions, and explores how the library technician’s diploma can work as a starting point for your MLIS. Lastly, we will discuss what skills and experience library technicians have and are carrying forward into librarianship.
