Learning through webinars is an educational trend seen worldwide over the last twenty years.  By eliminating the time and expense required of travel, webinars allow participants to attend from multiple locations, and highly-sought after presenters can be attained.  For libraries in Manitoba, there have been many barriers to accessing and providing instruction and education through webinars: Software has been cost prohibitive, access to computers with adequate capacity made webinars inaccessible, and internet reliability and bandwidth availability in rural areas made them unreliable.

Until now.

Recent technological advances have made webinars a feasible option for Manitoban libraries.  This panel will include presentations from librarians who have successfully engaged local and geographically diverse clients via webinar.  Discussion will include: analysis and selection of webinar software, the nuances of presenting by webinar, promotion and communication, managing registrations, and assessment and evaluation.  Come and learn how your library can engage and inspire through webinars!
